Three Terrorist and one Policeman have been killed on the outskirts of Kashmir in an overnight gunfight on Sunday (30/08/2020).
The encounter broke out after a trio of terrorist open fired on a joint ‘Naka’ of police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Pantha Chowk area late on Saturday night, a senior police official said to PTI.
The Police officer also informed that a joint team 20 Police officials and 50 RR and CRPF cordoned off the area and a search operation was launched there. During the operation, the hiding terrorists open fired on the search party and were therefore retaliated by the security forces that led to the encounter.
“During the initial shootout, we lost an assistant sub-inspector, Babu Ram of special operations group of police. In the encounter that followed, which ended this morning, three terrorists were killed” said Vijay Kumar, IGP Kashmir.
The details of the three terrorists haven’t been declared yet and the search operation is still underway. Further details are still awaited.
Since Friday three successful missions have been carried away by the security forces in Kashmir. In the last three days, a total number of 10 terrorists have been killed. But unfortunately, two security personnel have also been martyred.
On Friday, four terrorists have been killed and one surrendered in Kashmir’s Shopian district. Of the four terrorists killed, one was a former SPO of J&K Police who founded the terror outfit Al-Badr.
One late Friday night and Saturday morning three terrorist were shot dead in Kashmir’s infamous Pulwama district where one Indian Army soldier attained martyrdom during the clash.
