The Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Pijush Hazarika, in a responsible move, met the bereaved families of COVID-19 victims on Thursday (27th August, 2020).
The Minister visited the residence of Lt. Samar Deb, who lives in Nutanpatty, Silchar. Lt. Samar Deb succumbed to COVID-19. Minister Pijush Hazarika expressed his condolences to the family members of Lt. Samar Deb and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
The Minister, then visited the residence of Sandip Paul at Samshan Road, Silchar. Sandip Paul’s father, Lt. Sachindra Paul is one of those who succumbed to COVID-19. Minister Pijush Hazarika expressed his sincerest condolences to the bereaved family.
The Minister later visited Dr. Kalpajyoti Bhattacharjee in his residence at Ambikapatty, Silchar. Dr. Kalpajyoti Bhattacharjee’s father, Lt. Kiran Sashi Bhattacharjee, is one of those many, who died due to COVID-19. Minister Hazarika expressed his condolences to Dr. Kalpajyoti Bhattacharjee’s bereaved family.
In addition to all the above mentioned visits, the Minister made a visit to the residence of former Union Minister, Kabindra Purkayastha and inquired about his health condition.
The notable personalities who accompanied Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Pijush Hazarika are Additional Deputy Commissioner, Health, Sumit Sattawan; Joint Director, Health Services, Dr. Sudip Jyoti Das and District Media Expert, Sumon Choudhury.
The Minister then inspected the various COVID-19 Swab Testing Centres at Cachar Cancer Hospital, Green Heals Hospital and Teachers’ Training College.
