Minister Parimal Suklabaidya Lays Foundation Stones of Two Model High Schools in Dholai

In a revolutionary step to develop the educational scenario of the tea gardens in the state, the Assam government has undertaken a massive step to build 119 Model High Schools at the gardens across the state. This initiative has touched every part of the state having the tea garden areas. Assam Fisheries, Excise, Forest and Environment Minister on Sunday laid the foundation stone of two such schools which have been selected to be constructed at Borjelenga Tea Estate & Manierkhal Tea Estate under Dholai constituency of Cachar District.

Speaking on the occasions Minister Parimal Suklabaidiya praised the remarkable initiative of Assam Education Department in taking up the long pending matter related to the development of the tea tribes & implementing the all-round prospects for their growth & upliftment during the present regime.

The minister also said,” the earlier state governments did not take substantial steps for developing the education sector in tea gardens area after Independence as a result of which the tea community had lagged behind in social and educational development for all these years. But since Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) coming to power in 2016, the BJP-led state government has worked for equal development of all sections of the society following Prime Minister Narendra Modi”sV vision of “sabka sath, sabka vikash, sabka viswas”.

Assam’s tea industry has been established in the world market by working hard. The tea workers have shown the identity of Assam through high quality tea. These tea workers have been deprived of their due rights for decades. The government of the past has not given any thought to the higher education of their children. It has only been used for the vote bank. But with the innovative efforts of the Narendra Modi and Sarbananda Sonwal-led government and the development of boys and girls from tea workers’ families.

Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli,IAS also joined during the Foundation stone ceremony, Mrs. Jalli called upon the parents in the tea garden areas to motivate their children to take advantage of various schemes launched by the state government for education of the students of the community.

West Dholai ZP Member lakshmi Rani Yadav, Borjalenga Block Anchalik Panchayat President Subudh Das, District Media Incharge Mohitosh Tanti and other Respected party workers and Gaon Panchayat members were present.

Notably,the decision of setting up such schools in Dholai has been wholeheartedly welcomed by the people of Dholai & especially the tea garden areas.
