Department of Hand Loom & Textiles, Cachar conducts Ceremonial Distribution Programme

Department of Hand Loom & Textiles, Cachar, conducted a Ceremonial Distribution Programme on Tuesday (16th June, 2020). Loom and accessories, Jacquard machine, wrapping drum and accessories of loom were distributed under the Singer Bond Cluster Development Project SOPD-G for the year 2018-2019.

The Singer Bond Cluster Development Project is a 3 year project, which has a total budget of around 2 crores. The number of beneficiaries happens to be 380. The fund released during the 1st year of the project is Rs. 66.66 lakhs, intended towards Skill Development Training on weaving, dyeing and designing, covering 180 beneficiaries.

MLA Rajdeep Goala, Cachar DC, Keerthi Jalli, IAS and Assistant Director of Hand Loom & Textiles, in addition to other officials, were present on the occasion. The Deputy Commissioner of Cachar assured to solve problems related to the field, such as availability of yarn, diversification of products and marketing of hand loom products.
