Cachar District observes Sadbhavna Diwas

20th of August marks the birth anniversary of our 6th Prime Minister Late Rajiv Ratna Gandhi (served from 1984-’89). This day is also celebrated as the Sadbhavna Diwas. The main goal of Sadhbhavna Diwas is to promote and celebrate communal harmony, national integration and peace.

Sadhbhavna Diwas was observed in key Government Offices of Cachar on Thursday. However, in lieu of using this day as a platform to promote the message of communal harmony to various nooks and corners of the society, the officials were compelled to observe this day in the closed-off limits of their office grounds, duly following the issued guidelines on social distancing, published by the District Commissioner’s (DC) Office.

In addition to that, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajib Roy was able to administer the pledge of promoting the message of communal harmony to the officials and employees present in the District Commissioner’s Office. Notable attendees were Jessica Lalsim, District Development Commissioner; Anis Razul Mazumder, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Vibhor Aggarwal, Assistant Commissioner.
