Cachar celebrates 25th National Reading Day

Cachar District has celebrated the 25th Edition of National Reading Day on Friday (19th June, 2020).

The day is celebrated in honour of the Father of India’s Library Movement, Puthuvayil Narayana Panicker, who not only initiated libraries in his own state, but went on to ignite the Cultural Movement to advocate reading in the state of Kerala.

As the famous French Poet, Victor Hugo quoted, “To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark.”
