Cachar Administration has held a review meeting on Maternal Deaths & Child Death on Saturday (19th September, 2020), which was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Keerthi Jalli, IAS.
A number of death cases, including other related health parameters, were reviewed by the authority. It has been informed by the Cachar Administration that a plan of action has been developed accordingly, to reduce the maternal deaths and child deaths in the district.
An opinion was raised during the meeting, according to which, the referral from the remaining two districts of the valley, Karimganj and Hailakandi, in addition to areas like North Tripura and Manipur, are contributing for maternal and child deaths.
DC Jalli emphasized the importance of High Risk Pregnant Women (HRPW), to be followed up and monitored by the staffs in the Health Department. Moreover, she stressed on the importance of timely referral of HRPW cases, activation of ASHA network at community level, strengthening the services at delivery points including SMCH, more community awareness and mobilization for voluntary blood donation, majorly from the family members of the pregnant women.
The notable officials who were present at the meeting are ADC (Health), JTDHS, all BPHC Incharge, SMCH Doctors and BPMU & DPMU staffs of NHM.
