Integrated Tribal Development Project Launched by DC Cachar

On 17th August (Thursday) 2020 the Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Smti. Keerthi Jalli, launched the Integrated Tribal Development Project at Lakhipur Block.

The launch of the project was organized by North East India Committee On Relief and Development (NEICORD), the Project Implementing Agency at PMS Junior College, Hmawkhawlien.

National Bank For Agriculture And Rural Development (NABARD) supported the project for a tenure of six years to promote sustainable livelihood and income of the tribal farmers of the Lakhipur block by the promotion of sustainable farming.

Other dignitaries who were present in the in launch program were Assistant Commissioner, V. Aggarwal, District Development Manager, NABARD, Susanta Chakraborty, the Lead District Manager, Regional Manager, State Bank of India, Regional Manager of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Branch Manager of Central Bank of India, District Fishery Officer and District Veterinary Officer among others.

The program also saw the presence of bank officials, village council, village headman, gaon panchayat and farmers along with NEICORD employees. DC Keerthi Jalli then visited an SHG training centre and spoke to them on strengthening market linkage.
