IMPHAL POLICE ARRESTED THE QUARANTINE SERIAL RUNNER

A Siliguri returned Manipuri man was arrested by the Imphal Police on Thursday (16/07/2020) after he managed to escape from a quarantine facility in Imphal.
He is a serial runner because it is not the first time he escaped from a quarantine facility. According to media reports, he had earlier escaped from an institutional quarantine centre at Jiribam, a town located west of Manipur after his arrival from West Bengal on 14th July 2020 and later detained by the Cachar Police, Assam.
According to reports, at 9:30 A.M. of Thursday morning, the serial runner managed to escape from one of the quarantine centres at Thongju Constituency in Imphal East district after which some volunteers observed it and informed the Police instantly.

Due to quick action by the Singjamei Police, the Usain Bolt of Manipur named Khumukcham Nongyai of Bashikhong Wangkhei Loumanbi from Imphal west was arrested spontaneously and placed at RD Wing quarantine centre at Lamphel in Imphal under very strict observation as said by the additional health director Dr.K Sasheekumar Mangang.
With around 1700 confirmed cases and 0 deaths, The Jewel of India is still in a good condition but such irresponsible behaviour by its citizens can escalate the situation at any time.
