Endangered Macaws, Kangaroo among other animals recovered by Cachar Police from being Smuggled

Cachar Police on Tuesday midnight has recovered few rare and exotic species of birds and animals from Lailapur Police outpost that was coming from Mizoram and was headed towards Guwahati.

Cachar  Police on its Twitter and Facebook handle informed that on midnight of 28th July 11:30 O’ Clock a vehicle was intercepted with registration number TS 08 UB 1622 during a regular checking by the police personnel of Lailapur Police outpost.

During the checking, they recovered a total of Six Macaws, one baby  Kangaroo, three rare Turtles and Two Monkeys informed Lailapur Polie.

After the initial paperwork, the Police handed over these innocents animals and birds to the Cachar Forest Department Officials.

“The Truck was coming from Mizoram and was heading towards Guwahati with the consignment.” Told Narsimha Reddy and Navnath Tukaram Daigude, the two drivers of the truck who confessed the same to the Police.
