Death of a Young aspiring Cricketer from Golaghat shocks the Cricketing fraternity of Assam

Monday, 7th September 2020: Youngsters and cricketers, are a duo that can take the world by storm. Many successful cricketers started their career at a very young age, and among many others, there was one young aspiring cricketer, Bibhakar Nag (20).

Bibhakar Nag had a promising career on the field of cricket which couldn’t see much of the daylight due to his tragic and untimely demise on 6th September 2020, after he accidentally fell into the deep waters of Kakochang Waterfall of Bokakhat. Bibhakar’s body was later recovered by SRFD under Dolamara Police Station of Karbi Anglong on 7th September 2020, which was later confirmed by the Assam Cricket Association via a press release.

Bibhakar Nag and eight of his friends went together to Bokakhat waterfalls. But along with Bibhakar another boy has been reported to face the same consequence and lost his life on the spot.

Bibhakar Nag played for Assam U-16 V.M Trophy in the season 2015-16. Then he represented U-19 in 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 season. In the last season of 2019-20, Nag took a total of 18 wickets in 4 matches. In a match against Tamil Nadu, Bibhakar became Wrecker-in-Chief by claiming 10 wickets(Both innings) and played a major role in Assam’s mesmerizing Victory.

Bibhakar’s family is still in shock from the sudden demise of their young son.
