The govt. of India on 29th July has announced that from August 1, Unlock 3.0 will come into effect and the same can be enjoyed by the containment zones after August 31.
They even issued a set of new guidelines for the public to follow amid the outbreak.
But Assam Government is no mood to comply with the centre right now.
Health Minister Himmata Biswa Sarma cautioned the public to keep the virus at bay, the state administration would not relax Lockdown until August 15 and urged the people to abide by the old laws and guidelines that they have been following for all these days.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Sarma said, “The COVID-19 situation in Assam has been improving and, according to us, till August 15, we’ll have only limited application of the Home Ministry’s guidelines for Unlock”.
Sarma also said “We’d like to continue with some restrictions, at least till August 15 because we don’t want to loosen our grip on the situation which is improving. If we can maintain our current testing trend, which has been very encouraging, we might even flatten the coronavirus curve by August 15”.
Many places in Assam are still on lockdown and will continue to be in that state until the curve is flattened. Till now there are around 38,407 confirmed positive cases in the state will a total recovery of 29,080 and a death telly of 94. Barak Valley witnessed a total case of 3,103 with the recovery of around 1854 patients and a death tally of only 7.
