Cachar District prepares for the upcoming Flood Season

The world is in a battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. Amidst all the chaos, Assam has yet another crisis to deal with. The annual floods of Assam has long been infamous, and continuous rainfall for several days now, has already affected several districts of the state.

The District Administration of Cachar has announced that the Circle Officers have been asked to visit the vulnerable spots of Cachar district to inspect bunds and embarkments in order to make preparations to tackle the upcoming flood season. It is also being made sure that the SDRF works are completed early.

Assam has recently been hit by flood. Nearly 4 lakh people have been affected, and 5 have died in the natural disaster.
