A moral obligatory sum, worth Rs. 28 lakhs, was promptly sanctioned in view of the infelicitous occurance of landslide in the valley. The reaction while sanctioning the sum for measures of compensation was immediate as the fund was granted in “never before heard record time”.
The Deputy Commissioner of Cachar along with the MP, MLA Lakhipur and MLA Udharbond were seen at the site of handing over the next of kin.
