After going through a lot of negative informatioin, the Chennai Super Kings fans finally have something to rejoice about, as it has been reported that all the players and staffs, who had earlier tested positive for COVID-19, have tested negative for the disease, when tested on Monday (31st August, 2020).
The fans were under tremendous pressure when it was reported that several members of CSK including two Indian players, have tested COVID-19 positive. Adding to their concerns was the fact that, Suresh Raina retired from IPL 2020 citing “personal reasons”, although it was later informed that his uncle had been killed in Pathankot and the remaining members of his uncle’s family have acquired injuries and are undergoing treatment.
It has been informed that all the players and support staffs will undergo a second test on 3rd September, and if tested negative, the Chennai Super Kings team will be allowed to continue with their practice sessions from 5th September.
However, it has been asserted that the two Indian players, who earlier tested positive for COVID-19, must stay in quarantine for a longer period and will not be allowed to take the field before 12th September.
Meanwhile, the reputed South African batsman, Faf du Plessis, who is an important player of Chennai Super Kings, and the young South African bowler, Lungi Ngidi, who had earlier proved to be an important part of the bowling line-up for Chennai Super Kings, have arrived in UAE. They were directly sent into quarantine.
Reportedly, the senior spinner of the CSK side, Harbhajan Singh, has again postponed his arrival in UAE. The fact, that can ease the pressure on the CSK fans is that, Harbhajan has not yet pulled out of IPL 2020.
