The Zoology Department of Silchar's Gurucharan College on September 28 organised its cultural gala titled "Rhapsody". The event organised in the auditorium of the College, was also the farewell ceremony for the final-year students of the department.

The Principal of the college Dr Bibhas Deb attended the event as the Chief Guest accompanied by Vice Principal Dr Mihir Ranjan Nath, Hod of Zoology department Dr Nilendu Dhar and others. 

The event started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the dignitaries and performance by faculty member Sujoy Haldar. Students and faculties staged performances including dance, music and drama.

A small drama on environmental awareness and hygiene was staged during the event. It was written by Subhadeed Acharya and Suryadeep Bhattacharjee.

The event was hosted by Kaustav Purkasthya and Suryadeep Bhattacharjee.
