Two hotels belonging to the popular Taj franchise have reportedly received threat calls from Pakistan on Monday. According to reports, the Taj Mahal Palace in Colaba and the Taj Land’s End in Bandra received calls from Pakistan, threatening to carry out terror attacks similar to the 26/11 attacks.

In 2008, the Taj Mahal Palace in Colaba was one of the places which were attacked in the 26/11 attacks : one of the most deadly incidents of terrorism that India has ever seen. The three-day siege had left 174 people dead, and more than 300 injured.

Following the threat calls, the hotels reported the calls to the police. The security in both the hotels have been heightened since then. The police have said that they are in the process of identifying the caller(s) who made the threats.
