Bhabikal Celebrates 37th Foundation Day Amid Lockdown

Art has been the medicine to the mental boredom in this indefinite lockdown. The lockdown has showed the importance of human ability of ‘Imagination and Creation’.

Bhabikal Theatre Group was founded on 24th May in the year 1984. Since then, this organisation has never looked back. Mini Productions, Mega Productions, Housefull Shows, Technical Plays, Street Plays, and even Social Works, the organisation has embossed its name in the heart of this Silchar town, and nevertheless, on National and International levels too.

Bhabikal Theatre Group organises ‘Children Theatre Workshops’ and ‘Youth Theatre Workshops’ every year under the banner of ‘Kala Academy’. These workshops open the door to the abode of theatre, for many theatre enthusiasts.

On Sunday, i.e. 24th May 2020, Bhabikal celebrated its 37th Foundation Day, amid this lockdown. At 11 o’ clock in the morning, the theatre workers of Bhabikal Theatre Group, sat together, following all the protocols of lockdown. Honourable Director of Bhabikal Theatre Group, Shri Santanu Paul and Honourable President of Bhabikal Theatre Group, Shri Ranjan Das, were present on the occasion. A documentary video was inaugurated which, in addition to the legacy of Bhabikal Theatre Group, offers the home-made presentations of Bhabikal Theatre Artists. The video also has the messages of Theatre Personalities and former Theatre Artists of Bhabikal Theatre Group. Honourable President of Bhabikal Theatre Group, Shri Ranjan Das, concludes the meeting, asking every theatre worker to contribute towards this global crisis.
